  • Lavender Honey Simple Syrup

    Lavender Honey Simple Syrup

I recently started making this lavender honey simple syrup to put in my afternoon oat milk latte, and it’s probably my favorite thing that I have all day.

I’m not usually into floral flavors, but several years ago, I took the recommendation from the barista at Spy House in Minneapolis to try their Spy Girl, a lavender honey latte, and I loved it so much that it's now my regular order there.

Something about the combination of the lavender and the honey gives it almost a Fruity Pebbles vibe? It's sweet, but not cloying, and this recipe is pretty similar in flavor to the Spy Girl of my heart, without the commute.

When my dad decided to start making his iced green tea lemonades own at home to take to work at the hospital where he works as a nightshift ER nurse, I wanted to help make the process quick and easy for him.

  • Potato And Root Veg Soup

Small crocks of root veg soup sit on a baking sheet alongside toast, a wooden spoon and a sprig of thyme.

It can be really hard to eat seasonally around here at this point in the year, but making a big pot of this soup that's smooth and light but super nutrient-dense and filling makes it seem easy.  I HIGHLY recommend homemade stock or bone broth as the base over store-bought. The flavor will be much deeper and you'll be adding a ton of good stuff to an already super nutritious soup.

    Ingredients:
    4-6 Yukon Gold Potatoes, chopped
1 small celeriac, peeled and chopped
1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped

    Instructions:
    1. Cook stove

    2. Blend in blender with butter
